Nuffic Neso Indonesia untuk kali ketiga mempersembahkan Kompetiblog Studi di Belanda 2011.  Dengan menggandeng salingsilang kegiatan tahunan ini diharapkan bisa menarik minat lebih banyak penulis untuk ikut serta. Tahun lalu hampir 1,000 orang peserta telah mendaftarkan diri untuk mengikuti kompetiblog dan menghasilkan Yosua Kristianto dan Rahma yang telah merasakan sendiri pengalaman Summer Course di Belanda.

Tema yang diusung oleh panitia untuk Kompetiblog 2011 adalah: “Belanda masuk dalam 10 negara terbaik di dunia dalam berbagai macam hal, apa pendapatmu?”. Melalui tema ini panitia mengajak para peserta untuk memberikan opini tentang bagaimana sebuah negara kecil seluas propinsi Jawa Barat memiliki keunggulan dalam berbagai macam bidang yang telah diakui dunia, salah satunya pendidikan.

Siapakah yang dapat mengikuti kompetisi ini? Warga negara Indonesia dan berdomisili di Indonesia saat mengikuti kompetisi ini, berusia antara 17-40 tahun dan belum pernah menempuh studi di Belanda. Holland Education Fair 2010 akan kembali digelar di dua kota, yaitu di Yogyakarta dan Bandung. Pameran ini sebagai bagian dari kampanye go international dari pendidikan tinggi Belanda. Pendidikan tinggi di Belanda memiliki ciri diantaranya: tersedia lebih dari 1,500 program studi yang ditawarkan dalam bahasa Inggris, sehingga memudahkan calon mahasiswa dalam beradaptasi tanpa perlu menguasai bahasa Belanda terlebih dahulu.

“Pendidikan tinggi di Belanda telah diakui reputasinya di dunia. Data the Times Higher Education Supplement menempatkan 85% universitas riset di Belanda masuk dalam 200 universitas terbaik di dunia. Dan Holland Education Fair digelar sebagai sarana bagi calon mahasiswa Indonesia untuk dapat berkomunikasi langsung dengan pihak universitas di Belanda.”

Holland Education Fair adalah kegiatan rutin tahunan yang telah 10 kali diselenggarakan oleh Nuffic Neso Indonesia dan untuk tahun 2010 ini akan dilaksanakan di Yogyakarta pada 5 October 2010 dan Bandung 7 October 2010 jam 11.00-18.00. Tempat penyelenggaraan pameran tersebut adalah di Hotel The Phoenix di Yogyakarta dan Hotel Hyatt Regency di Bandung. Pengunjung tidak dipungut biaya apapun untuk hadir dalam pameran ini, alias gratis!

Sebanyak 15 perguruan tinggi dari Belanda akan berpartisipasi dan mengirimkan langsung perwakilannya ke Holland Education Fair 2010. Seluruh program studi yang ditawarkan berbagai universitas tersebut merupakan program studi berbahasa Inggris. Selain pameran, akan ada pula presentasi beasiswa Huygens, Erasmus Mundus dan DIKTI.

The first conversation I had with Mrs. Gretchen van der Spek, then the Admission Manager of TiasNimbas Master programme, was about my vision for myself in the next 5 years after joining TiasNimbas. I told her that by that time I would be sitting in a plane on its way to China, a final leg of a road show with my company Board of Directors to settle an acquisition transaction; an acquisition which will increase the diversity and market of my company in Asia region.

I joined TiasNimbas because I would like to develop myself further, and I feel attached to the value the school holds, “Never Stop Asking”, being ambitious or excellent must start with questions. TiasNimbas taught me to always develop new solutions to new challenges; one solution doesn’t fit for all.

Sitting in a room with dozens of highly qualified people, who are eager to learn more, to know more, and to share knowledge between one and another; my fellow classmates in TiasNimbas were fun, outgoing, and dedicated people. They came to TiasNimbas filled with high expectations, and the school did meet, to a great deal, our expectations. The Professors were highly qualified, welcomed for discussions, and were willing to help us to improve.

Having spent a study year in TiasNimbas has improved me considerably, both individually and professionally. I developed certain skills and gained important knowledge, to be able to enter the professional business world in the high level.

I would like to invite you to be ambitious, to fill yourselves with the hunger to know more, to develop yourselves further, by joining TiasNimbas. We would like to inform you about Erasmus Mundus programme in Environmental Pathways for Sustainable Energy Systems (SELECT). This programme offers advanced education in the field of sustainable energy systems for the future. A number of scholarships are still available for this programme if interested students apply soon!

SELECT aims at delivering education for high competency and quality engineering skills in the field, including industrial interaction throughout the programme. Students graduating from the SELECT programme will have gained experience in the following topics:

• Training in multidisciplinary problem analysis and solving.
• Advanced team building in a multinational setting, along with stimulating international experience.
• A novel and multidimensional way of learning involving real and virtual classrooms.
• Close collaboration with industry during thesis work.
• A unique network of fellow students, SELECT alumni and industry specialists in the field of sustainable energy.

The SELECT Master’s programme is a cooperation between the Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden (KTH), Technical University of Turin (PoliTo), Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands (TUE), Technical University of Catalonia in Spain (UPC) and Helsinki University of Technology in Finland (TKK).
